An Illinois school has launched an investigation into reports that a teacher has attacked the “white privilege” N-word.
An unidentified Paladin High School teacher provoked backlash when she called white privilege racist on deleted Facebook posts, saying: News station WGNTV reports.
I see the term “white privilege” as the racist N-word. You don’t walk in my shoes, so don’t make assumptions about me and my so-called privilege, ”he wrote.
The educator, who teaches social studies, later called Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton “race-biters.”
“Do you think America is racist? You have been fooled by the white liberal establishment and race-instigators like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, ”he wrote.
Local activist Tim McGowan, who recently organized the Black Lives Matter protest, called on the school to dismiss the teacher News station WMAQ reported.
“Everyone has the right to speak up and speak their mind, but when designing the mind as a teacher, having that kind of narrow mindset is totally unacceptable,” McGowan told the store.
Chief Minister Tony Medina said the teacher’s social media posts do not represent the values and policies of the staff, news station WMAQ reported.
“We are currently conducting an investigation and we will take appropriate action,” Medina said.
