Kovid-19: Fourth McDonald’s temporarily closed in Metro Vancouver

McDonald’s closed at 8586 120th Street in Surrey on Saturday due to a positive COVID-19 test by an employee.

The restaurant chain said in a statement that the certified third party had taken precautionary measures to close the restaurant immediately for thorough cleaning and sanitation.

“Since we know our guests depend on their local McDonald’s, we’re working hard to reopen it safely and we’re committed to doing our part to help our communities.”

All of the staff members who were in close contact with the employee sought self-restraint until more information was available, a statement said. The employee worked their last shift on September 10 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is the fourth McDonald’s closed in Metro Vancouver. On Wednesday, an employee tested positive for COVID-19 at 7200-Black Kingsway in Barnaby.

On September 1, McDonald’s temporarily closed the 8100-block Alderbridgeway site in Richmond, a worker reported that they tested for COVID positive and finally worked on August 27.

In the first week of July, McDonald’s closed its restaurant on 56th Avenue near 180th Street in Surrey.

Anyone who visited a Surrey restaurant on September 10 was asked to take orders BC Center for Disease Control.
