The political party announced in a press release on Monday that MP Pierre Arcand was losing his responsibilities as metropolis and transport representative in the shadow cabinet of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ).

The announcement comes just days after the Liberal MP returned home after a controversial trip to Barbados with his wife over the holidays.

On his return, a member of the Mont-Royal-re Tెrmont apologized for his choice, but suggested he should not resign.

Last week, the leader of the Liberal Party of Quebec, Dominique Angled, said she had been informed “on December 20” that she was planning a trip to her deputy Barbados.

“We were told that Pierre Arcond wanted to leave. We told Mr Arcand that we thought it was not a good idea, and he made his decision knowingly,” Dominic Angled explained in an interview with TVA Novels on Wednesday, urging the Liberal leader to return to the country as soon as possible.
