In office since January 2019, the 42-year-old has maintained a 9-23 record at the helm of the Big Apple team. In 2020, the Jets ended their regular season with a 2-14 record, the second worst performance on the Goodell Tour.
“Tonight [dimanche]Christopher Johnson, the club’s owner, wrote in a statement that he had told Adam Guess that he was no longer the head coach of the Jets. While he was here, I was very happy to get to know Adam and his wonderful family. Best wishes to them for the future. While my intentions are to be consistent in this organization – especially in our leadership positions – it is clear that the best decision for the Jets is to make a difference. ”
“We know we have a lot of work to do when we hire Adam in 2019. Our good end to last season ‘was encouraging, but unfortunately we were not able to pick up our pace and achieve our goals this season,” he added.
Prior to joining the New York club, Guys led the Miami Dolphins for three seasons (2016 to 2018), but only experienced one winning campaign. He has a 32-48 record as head coach.
