Washington | The modern vaccine provides better long – term protection against the serious effects of COVID – 19, compared to Pfizer, according to a study released Friday by a leading U.S. health organization.
Researchers at the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) analyzed a sample of approximately 3,700 adults admitted to the hospital for Kovid-19, associated with severe symptoms, between March 11 and August 15, 2021, the prevalence of the pre- and delta variant.
During this period, the Modernna vaccine was 93% effective against hospitalizations, the Pfizer vaccine 88% and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine 68% effective.
The loss of effectiveness of Pfizer’s vaccine over time is particularly noticeable: its efficacy rate drops from 91% to 77% after 120 days, from 14 days to 120 days after injection.
Compared to the same periods, the effectiveness rate of the modern vaccine increased from 93% to 92%.
Several recent studies are in the same direction, confirming the apparent dominance of the Modernna vaccine over Pfizer.
