A 17-year-old man was searching for Montreal police when two officers tried to handcuff him last Thursday.
The video of the arrest this weekend went viral on social media. We saw two agents in the police department of Montreal City (SPVM) trying to arm the young man without success.
“He was arrested during another event on Thursday. He gave the police a false name. He was later re-identified by police and arrested for obstruction of the criminal code. The video follows the incident,” SPVM spokesman Rafael Bergeron confirmed.
In the footage, two officers tried to capture a teenager near their vehicle. According to Mr. Bergeron, the young man begins to act verbally and physically aggressively.
“At that point, everything was going on. He fled and the police officers released their hands because things were hot. The young man fled and we have not found him yet,” he said. […] And no, the handcuffs were not found even later. ”
According to the SPVM, a 17-year-old can face a number of charges that will be verified by the prosecutor. The man was also known to police. A video of the altercation between him and the police will be filed as evidence in court.
