This acquisition raises questions about the future management of the social network.

In fact, Musk said on Twitter that he wanted to attack freedom of expression, which he felt violated.

Therefore, many lawmakers fear that fake news and hate speech are commonplace on social networks.

“In a world of increasing polarization, I believe we must be careful when using more social media for information and misinformation,” said Franయిois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Minister of Science and Industries.

“Without regulation, without framework, the power of the people can deceive governments and states. […] That fact must be taken into account. ”

Quebec MPs are also concerned over the news. Sylvain Goudrolt and Manon Massey also said they had reservations.
