The $ 500 tax credit introduced by the Quebec government to help the population cope with inflation has been well received and in many cases used wisely.
According to a recent Leger poll, 66% of Quebecs claim to have received the $ 500 tax credit, which costs Quebec $ 3.2 billion.
55% of them said they used the aid to pay daily bills such as groceries, rent or electricity.
Savings, meanwhile, were a select option for 29% of tax credit recipients and 5% used to spoil themselves.
Eight percent agreed that they did not realize they had received it.
While many are satisfied with the amount allocated for the tax credit, others say it is not enough.
Leger Poll revealed that 61% of Cubans believe the Legalt government should grant the extra amount.
However, 25% believe that a 500% tax credit will suffice.
When asked by TVA Nouvelles about his intention to provide additional assistance to Quebecs, Premier Franకోois Legalt replied: “We are closely monitoring the situation.”
“When we want to announce anything to you, you will be the first person I say,” he added.
