A police officer went above and beyond his job description to rescue a 13-year-old dog who had been missing for four days.
According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Lila, an elderly golden retriever, went missing for four days after her owner heard her wailing in the distance.
Two officers from Conklin, New York were called to help a dog stuck in a culvert.
After failing to lure the dog with cheese and peanut butter, Officer Jimmy Rasaphone entered the tunnel to rescue the beast by pulling on its collar.
If the dog is in critical condition after rescue, he is now safe with his owner. The New York Police Department highlighted the compassion of its officers on its social networks in a post that went viral.
