The piece, the original composition, is in a way a French response to the classic Santa Claus is stuck in my chimney, by Ella Fitzgerald, is Julia’s favorite Christmas song. “The beat is upbeat and makes us both laugh imagining Santa Claus stuck in the chimney on Christmas Eve,” says Gregory Charles, who accompanied the song’s release. But since the piano duo couldn’t find an equivalent in French, father and daughter challenged themselves to imagine. It took them a few hours to compose the festive boogie, inspired by watching Mom dance after kissing Santa Claus.
