(Washington) US President Joe Biden, who will turn 80 in November, said Friday he “intends” to run for another term in 2024, but has yet to make a formal decision.

When asked about this on the MSNBC channel, he said that if the Democrat did not make a decision immediately after the announcement, “a whole series of rules were triggered” and “I would have to act like a candidate.” .
“I haven’t made a formal decision yet, but that is my intention. My intention is (to contest again) and we have time to make that decision,” he said.
When asked if his wife, Jill Biden, was in favor of getting back into the race, he indicated that she was.
“My wife thinks we’re doing something very important and I shouldn’t walk away from it,” he said after pausing.
Mr. Biden has previously signaled his “intention” to run again in September, but remains evasive.
The oldest elected president in the United States, Joe Biden will celebrate his 80th birthday on November 20. He was 82 at the beginning of the second term and 86 at the end.
His age has gradually fueled speculation about the reality of the new candidacy.
Mr. Biden and his party are preparing to pass the test of midterm parliamentary elections on Nov. 8, traditionally difficult for a sitting president.

Additionally, Joe Biden said it would be “logical” for Donald Trump to comply with a subpoena to appear before a commission investigating the attack on the Capitol.
“I’m not going to give my opinion on what he should do,” the Democrat said in an interview with MSNBC.
But it seems to me logical for him to comply, as he confirmed that the parliamentary committee handled the case “very well”.
In a “historic” gesture, the panel said Friday that former President Trump should appear “on or around November 14.”
