A Seattle-based restaurant in the United States says he has “lost faith” in local authorities after becoming the victim of what he believes is the 23rd break-in on his premises in three years.
“I've lost faith in the city of Seattle, the police department, the municipal councilors and the elected officials of the state,” he said in an interview with local radio KTTH, insisting on anonymity out of fear. Targeted again.
The last break-in apparently happened on February 3, when surveillance cameras captured images of a man breaking a window to gain entry to his premises, the New York Post reported.
His actions did not activate the restaurant's alarm system and the police were only informed of the crime when a passerby noticed the broken window.
No items were stolen in the incident.
According to the hypotheses stated by the police in their incident report, the person in question may have been looking for a safe that he could not find.
The city of Seattle cut its police department's budget in 2020, but increased it again last year because crime spiked after the cuts.
