He also said, “Vaccines are on the horizon. Spring, summer and summer are coming and they will be better than this winter. Overcoming this situation is frustrating. No one wants 2020 to be like this. But we can all control how bad it is by doing our part.”

The Prime Minister identified the record-breaking COVID-19 case numbers seen in many parts of the country over the past few days as “cause for concern”.

He urged Canadians to follow local public health guidelines, wear masks, maintain physical distance and download the COVID warning exposure notification application.

“Behind every new number is a friend, parent, neighbor or senior. People’s lives are in danger, and we should all do our part, ”Trudeau said.

“Together we will get through this.”

Canada’s Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr Howard Nzu said on Tuesday that there were 26,000 active cases of COVID – 19 nationwide, averaging about 2,700 new cases daily.

Over the past seven days, an average of 1,070 people are being treated with COVID-19 in Canadian hospitals, of which 224 are in critical care and 28 die daily.

Quebec on Tuesday reported 963 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 101,885 since the outbreak began.
