Possible COVID-19 exposures at the Halifax store and on the WestJet flight

Public Health Nova warns Scots about two new exposures to the COVID-19 virus.

The first will take place on October 27-30 between 3pm at Dollarama in Scotia Square Mall in downtown Halifax

At this point someone in the area will ask for self-monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19.

Those who have been exposed to the virus in this area on these dates can develop symptoms until November 13th.

The second notice was about a plane at the end of last month.

WestJet Flight 254 departed Toronto at 9:45 pm on October 30 and reached Halifax at 1 am on October 31.

Public health is advising passengers in rows 39 to 45 in seats A, B, and C to monitor symptoms. It was ated that anyone exposed to COVID-19 on that flight could develop symptoms by Friday.

Nova Scotia has not yet released their daily update on COVID-19 cases.

Recent other exposure notices

The Health Authority warned of some more potential exposures last week:

  • Bitter and Martini Bar & Restaurant on Argyll Street on November 2 from 9-11pm
  • Sobies Clayton Park at 287 Lacewood Doctor on November 3 between 1pm
  • Air Canada Flight 622 departed Toronto at 6:40 pm on October 30 and landed at Halifax at 9:41 pm. Passengers in rows 16 to 23 in seats D, E, F should call 811 for advice.
  • October 24 from 1-5 pm at the Christmas Maria Family Restaurant in Commercial St., New Minas.

The latest figures around the Atlantic bubble are:

  • New Brunswick Reporting a new case on Friday. It now has 24 active cases.
  • Newfoundland and Labrador Zero reported new cases on Friday. It has five active cases.
  • PEI COVID-19 reported two new cases on Friday, both related to travel outside the Atlantic bubble. It now has two active cases.
