The MacBooks haven’t had a better time lately, which is what’s terrible Butterfly keyboards Beyond their welcome. But lately things are new Apple Silicon M1 chips Launched on the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
One thing that MacBooks have completely ignored over the last few years is the touchscreen. Although rival laptop manufacturers are scrambling to add touch control to their own machines, Apple has reiterated that it does not want to do so. This is a very good thing.
Although it always seems that Apple is in the direction of merging one or more of its product lines, it seems that there are a few lines that cross it. Although the M1 chip on the new Mac is based on the A series found on iPads and iPhones, the touchscreen MacBook has never had a chance.
This news was confirmed by Craig Federigi, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at Apple The Independent. “I have to tell you when we released Big Sur, and these articles started saying ‘Oh my God, look, Apple is getting ready for the touch.’ We have designed and developed the look of Makos in a way that makes us feel very comfortable and natural, without having to think remotely about touch. ”
According to Federici, the introduction is a strength of Apple’s lineup, as users can switch between devices with “less cognitive burden on the switching process” and not “some signs of a future change in input methods”.
If ever, basically touchscreens weren’t coming to MacBooks. Frankly I want it to have other laptop manufacturers.
Case on touchscreen laptops
There are arguments both for and against touchscreen laptops, but to me it always seems an embarrassing feature, in fact it was added in advance without considering what to do.
While iOS, iPadOS, And other mobile operating systems from scratch, Windows and MacOS Nope. Instead they had their beginnings decades ago and fully integrated a system based on keyboards and mouse cursors – not the dull little digits we call fingers. So I found the laptop touchscreen to be completely negative, because most of the icons are too small for my fingers to be completely accurate.
The growing small bezel means that I can not adjust my screen without accidentally toggling something in the process. The same goes for getting rid of smudges and other debris that accumulate on the display.
Laptop manufacturers do not have touchscreens on all their machines, but all the good ones seem to be pushed to the standard by you. Apple, thankfully, did not, and if I did not like MacOS, it’s one of the things that bothers me about disabling touch control in Windows 10’s control panel. I can still do it, Whatever.
I have no doubt people will disagree with me, but there are other reasons why Apple is against adding touchscreens to MacBooks.
There should be space for the iPad
Apple really is the iPad (and IPad Pro In particular) as the successor to the laptop in recent years, the tablet will be more attractive to work with adding more productivity-centric hardware and features. Those efforts seem half-hearted, because even though Apple insists that iPods are good, it does not embody that vision of reality when it comes to MacBooks.
That being said, MacBooks and iPads are very different devices, because obviously one is a laptop and one is a tablet – otherwise no matter how many accessories you buy to make it look. But the main thing that stops those lines from becoming blurry is the touchscreen. Adding a touchscreen to a MacBook can suddenly make the iPad look less attractive.
It would at least undo Apple’s efforts to make the iPad a desirable laptop replacement. Because it does not leave the MacBook, it does not give special features, which helps to keep the iPad obsolete. Exceeding your own products is not good business.
Lo look
Is the MacBook always touchless? Never say no, but Apple is not really thinking only in the short term, so it’s not going to happen for long. Those of you who are really catching up for the touchscreen MacBook will no doubt be disappointed, but at least the iPad Pro is there too.
While Apple is adamant that it will never cross this line, other lines between the Mac and the iPad are fading over time.
