Not compliant with health measures: Construction sites may be closed

The easing of health measures observed in recent times in the construction and manufacturing sector pushes Labor Minister Jean Boulette to give a serious reminder to these sectors of the economy.

In a press release sent on Friday, Minister Boulette condemned the violations of these health instructions and appealed for the solidarity of the employers and workers concerned.

“It’s zero tolerance for those who violate current health standards,” it wrote.

In particular, manufacturing and construction activities should be minimized to fulfill commitments.

For administrative circles, teleworking is not an option, but it is mandatory when it is possible to set it up. Adjustments must be made in the work shifts to limit the presence of workers in one place.

“If the problem persists, the Quebec government will take responsibility and will not hesitate to close construction sites or businesses and issue tickets to criminals. In addition, CNESST has issued numerous indictments for non-compliance with health measures since the outbreak began,” said Jean Boulette.
