The singer has been embroiled in a feud with her father Jamie Spears since 2008 to lift the training he has been conducting, which has been a year of well-publicized nervous breakdown.

For months, her fans, worried about her well-being, have been mobilizing and campaigning for her to regain her autonomy with the hashtag #FreeBritney as the banner.

Their fight will also be central to the documentary Framing Britney Spears, which premieres on FX and Hulu on February 5.

“People close to Britney Spears and the lawyers who are affiliated with her custody look back on her life, she takes her father to court to find out who controls her life,” the film’s description reads.

The trailer shows clips of interviews with many people involved in the #FreeBritney movement.

Framing is the sixth episode of the first season of the documentary series “The New York Times Presents” hosted by journalists from the American daily Britney Spears.
