True to the position he held from the first of these allegations in late February, the powerful 63-year-old Democratic governor again dismissed the idea of resignation.

He assured that he would not “know” about the new allegation, reiterating that he would wait for the results of an independent investigation into the allegations, overseen by state Attorney General Letitia James with controversial independence.

“Let the investigative facts be established, then we will see,” Cuomo called shortly after publishing the new allegation at a telephone press conference.

According to information from Albany Times Union, A newspaper in the New York state capital, said this new episode of inappropriate behavior took place at the governor’s official residence in Albany and was related to an employee who was not recognized at the time.

If the latter did not make an official complaint, her allegations would be transferred to the governor’s legal department and the state prosecutor’s services, the newspaper said.

The new allegations continue to weaken the governor’s tenure, which is 10 years in office and ending his term in 2022.

Seen by many as a hero in the fight against the pandemic in 2020, many have called for the resignation of one of America’s most influential governors, including Mr. Cuomo, now from his own Democratic camp.

Republican-elected officials have begun impeachment proceedings in front of the Democrat-majority New York Parliament. Its chances of victory are uncertain, as impeachment requires a simple majority in the lower house and a two-thirds majority in the Senate.
