The question of whether a professional team would return to the capital seemed inevitable. It was laid to rest on Monday morning by Guy Laflorge, a distinguished athlete from a distance who took part in the unveiling of works to be set up in his honor at Place Jean-Belive.
“I sincerely hope that the Nordics return to Quebec, but in the current context, it’s not so easy.
He said the National League franchise will benefit fans across the province.
“It’s very good for Montreal Canadians because it promotes animosity between the two teams. […] This is really a plus for both teams [dans le passé] I hope it comes back, ”Guy Laughlor concluded.
Quebec Mayor Regis LaBeoum declined to comment. “There’s not much to say about it today,” he said.
“Well, I want to be a former player. We are waiting for the consequences. I 100% agree to have a team in Quebec, but that doesn’t seem to be the case right now. Let’s see later. We’ll see, “he said, predicting another former Nordic, Real Cloutier, who will be immortalized in front of the VideoTron Center.
