Scarlett Johansson and Disney have settled their “Black Widow” dispute

Los Angeles | Scarlett Johansson and Disney announced on Thursday that they had reached an agreement on a financial dispute between them as the movie “Black Widow” was airing in theaters, with the actress taking a break from the film.

Scarlett Johansson, one of the highest paid stars in Hollywood, has filed a lawsuit in a Los Angeles court in late July, claiming a percentage of the proceeds from the highly-anticipated Marvel movie.

She therefore predicted that the film would be released simultaneously with the entertainment giant’s video-on-demand service in theaters and at Disney +.

Disney, which owns Marvel Studios, said it had not breached its contract, accusing the actress of “ignoring the devastating and long-term global impact of the Kovid-19 epidemic.”

The release of “Black Widow”, scheduled for 2020, has been postponed several times due to the closure of theaters due to the health crisis.

Thanks to this deal, the terms have not been revealed, Scarlett Johansson and Disney are now once again best friends in the world.

“I’m happy to be able to resolve our differences with Disney,” the actress wrote in a statement to AFP.

“I am very proud of the work we have done together over the years and I greatly appreciate my artistic relationship with their team. I look forward to continuing our collaborations in the years to come,” she continues.

Alan Bergman, president of Disney Studios, writes, “I’m very happy to have reached a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson about Black Widow.”

The deal could be “tens of millions of dollars”, citing a source close to the item, according to the specific site deadline.
