“The StarLink service is now operational. Other terminals are on the way, “said Tesla and the boss of SpaceX Astronautical Group on Twitter.
Ten hours ago, the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Mikhail Fedorov, challenged the billionaire on the social network, asking him to provide StarLink stations to Ukraine.
“When you are trying to colonize Mars, Russia is trying to invade Ukraine! If your rockets successfully land from space, Russian rockets will attack Ukrainian civilians! We are asking you to provide Starlink stations to Ukraine,” the official in charge of the digital sector told Ukraine on Saturday morning.
In a similar vein, he called on Elon Musk to encourage “pure Russians” to oppose their government.
SpaceX on Friday launched the second launch of nearly 50 Starlink satellites to provide Internet connectivity to customers worldwide.
On Saturday, it was unclear how customers in Ukraine would have ground capabilities to receive the service.
