Charest wants to criminalize the blocking of critical infrastructure

Jean-Charest, a rival to the conservative leadership, has vowed to outlaw critical infrastructure such as pipelines, mines or railways if he is prime minister.

The proposal is expressed in the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act, which restores the police’s right to remove illegal barriers without resorting to court injunctions.
