A YouTuber loses his pilot's license for intentionally crashing his plane

American YouTuber Trevor Jacob paid a lot for the viral video he made last fall, reports Guardian.

On November 24, 2021, Trevor Jacob posted a video entitled “I Crash My Plane” in which he appeared to be coming out of the middle of a plane before his plane crashed.

The video was a huge success, attracting over 2.5 million Internet users, but also the FAA and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The investigation revealed that YouTube had fully planned its plane crash. Several cameras were installed on the aircraft, one of which was cleverly oriented towards the propeller. The pilot also decided to put on his parachute before the plane took off.

The FAA indicated that Trevor Jacob did not use the emergency frequency to report his troubles and that he jumped out of the plane without even trying to confirm why the propeller had stopped working.

YouTuber also failed to search for a safe area to try to land.

American Agency So Mr. Jacob concludes that there was a lack of prudence, discretion and responsibility in jumping off the plane, simply by filming his plane crash.

The FAA therefore decided to revoke Trevor Jacob’s pilot’s license.

He admitted that the latter risk was involuntary and that he did not anticipate such permission.
