In a video posted on his Instagram account, the popular singer explained that he has half control over his face.
“As you can probably see on my face, I have Ramsey Hunt Syndrome,” he said in the introduction to his video.
The syndrome occurs when the varicella-zoster virus infects the nerves in the head. Then the nervous system is affected, which, as in the case of Bieber, leads to paralysis of part of the face. In addition to facial paralysis, it can cause hearing loss. “If you notice that this eye is not blinking, I can not stay with the smile on this side of my face, this nostril will not move, I am completely paralyzed on this side,” he said.
Earlier in the week, the singer canceled two dates scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in Toronto, much to the annoyance of some fans. “For those who are bored with canceling my upcoming shows, I’m not in a physical position to do them,” he explained.
“It’s very serious as you can see,” Star warned, but he wanted to reassure her that he was “doing all the exercises to regain control over his face”.
“My body is telling me to slow down,” he added.
Justin Bieber gave no indication of a resumption of his tour.
He later posted on Story that he was having a hard time eating and asked his subscribers to pray for him.
There have been thousands of support messages on social media, including Twitter, but some conspirators have suggested that his paralysis may be linked to the vaccine. “Justin Bieber is canceling his concerts. He was very ill. His face was paralyzed.
“After his teammate, Justin Bieber was seriously ill and had to interrupt his tour. He was triple vaccinated and he asked his fans for a full vaccination schedule to attend his concerts,” another wrote.
This is not the first time the singer has suffered a serious illness and shared it with his community. In January 2020, Justin Bieber announced that he was suffering from Lyme disease, a bacterial infection that is usually caused by ticks and that he had chronic mononucleosis.
