Days after Luke Coombs’ victory at the Plains of Abraham, organizers of the new Quebec Country Festival, scheduled for late July, announced that the event would ultimately not take place.

The cancellation was announced on the event website.
“It is with great sadness and deep regret that we announce today the cancellation of the 2022 edition of the Festival Country de Québec,” it read.
Inflation and epidemics are particularly distinguished by managers.
“In the last few weeks we have done everything we can to avoid cancellation. We have been knocking on doors for additional money. We have relied heavily on subsidies. […] Unfortunately, we don’t have support on that side,” explained event president Patrick Guay.
Organizers admit they’re a bit optimistic.
“While the response from the public on the ticketing side is still favourable, we are a little short of our target, which is not enough to make up the shortfall,” Mr Guay said.
Organizers have promised to contact all those who bought tickets for the event.
Patrick Norman and Leah Jarry headline the festival, which will be held at the Stade Canac on July 30 and 31.
