(Washington) “Keep dancing”: Former US Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Sunday backed Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, whose taste for dinner parties has sparked controversy around the world.
Updated yesterday at 7:34 pm.
In a tweet posted on her official account, Hillary Clinton posted a photo of herself dancing with her arms raised, taken in April 2012 at Cafe Havana in Cartagena, Colombia.
“Here I am in Cartagena when I meet as Secretary of State,” Hillary Clinton wrote, adding, “Keep dancing, @marinsanna.”
Sanna Marin quickly responded to this and tweeted, ‘Thank you Hillary Clinton’.
At 36, the world’s youngest prime minister became the subject of controversy after videos of him having fun and dancing with friends and celebrities were leaked online.
Controversy escalated after Sanna Marin published a photo of two women lifting their tops at a party he hosted at his residence in July to demand an apology.
Finnish tabloids renamed it “Sanna the Party”.
74-year-old Hillary Clinton served as the US diplomat from 2009 to 2013 under President Barack Obama. She was also an unsuccessful candidate for the White House, losing to Donald Trump in 2016, as well as a United States Senator and First Lady.
