With Toronto Pearson and Montreal-Trudeau in first and second place, respectively, Canada took home the gold medal in this summer’s biggest delays at airports.
According to CNN reporting data from FlightAware, nearly half of all arrivals to these two international airports were delayed during the summer.
Vancouver’s airport, meanwhile, ranked 10th globally for airport delays, with more than a third of flights not landing on time.
There has been chaos around the world since the start of summer, but passengers traveling through Montreal for departures or arrivals are not spared.
Air Canada has faced major turmoil among airlines, particularly due to numerous lost or untraceable baggage, labor issues and delays.
However, the situation improved in early September. According to FlightAware, as of September 8, 11% of Air Canada flights worldwide were delayed. During the afternoon, 62 trips were delayed at Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
