The hypocrisy of Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois | JDM

Did you see what Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois wrote on Twitter about the demonstrations in Iran?

“Iranians are fighting for the right to dignity,” he said.

No, Mr. Nadeau-Dubois.

Iranian women (mainly women growing up in Iran, so it’s strange that feminists like you don’t point this out) don’t fight for “their right to dignity”.

They fight against the mask as a symbol of the regime that oppresses them.

Come on, repeat after me: “Iranian women are fighting against the veil”.

22-year-old Mahsa Amini was killed by Iran’s morality police because she wore her veil badly.

Not because she performed for “her honor”.

Beat around the bush

When a black man is murdered by a white cop, leftist activists like GND don’t say a word.

“A man is killed because of the color of his skin,” they say.

They call a spade a spade.

It’s racism, period.

Dirty racism. A deadly ideology invented and fueled by evil colonial capitalism.

But when a 22-year-old Muslim woman was brutally killed by an Islamist regime for wearing her veil, suddenly, Quebec Solidaire activists were walking on eggshells and wearing white gloves that went up to their shoulders.

A young woman is not a victim of a sexist and misogynistic regime that uses the veil as a symbol and flag, nooooo.

She was killed by a regime that “violated her dignity”.

The art of beating around the bush without naming things.

It’s like I’m saying that the Jews were gassed by a “regime that violated their dignity.”

Why do you refuse to utter the word “Nazi”? I get asked for good reason.

Similarly, why does Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois refuse to use the term “Islamist”?

Because it has the word Islam in it?

And why doesn’t he talk about the mask?

Because his party is too proud to present masked candidates?

Because, for Quebec Solidaire, the veil is not a symbol of oppression of women, but a symbol of openness, diversity and coolness?

And what is happening in Iran right now shows how stupid this talk is?

How gutless

Do you remember the old quiz? Yes or no ?

It was broadcast on Radio-Canada in the 1960s.

The host (actor Gilles Pelletier) asks the participants questions and they don’t have to answer yes or no.

Well, when I listen to GND about what’s going on in Iran, it sounds like he’s taking a quiz called No Wheel No Islamism.

“What was Mahsa Amini wearing on her head when she was arrested by the vice squad?

– A piece of fabric.

– And what is the ideology of the regime in Iran?

– Shameful. An ideology that suppresses the dignity of citizens, men and women. »

Which is hypocrisy, though.

What a cowardice, what a lack of courage.

And it calls itself a feminist. and unity.

Yes, the thing.
