Russia has completed the mobilization of 300,000 reservists in just one month, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced during a televised exchange with President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

“The work of recruiting 300,000 people has been completed,” Mr. Shoigu told Russian television that Mr. Sitting across from Putin, 41,000 of them are already deployed in Ukraine’s military units.
“No additional tasks are planned,” he said, indicating that Russia does not plan to mobilize additional reserves or civilians in the immediate future.
However, Russia continued to recruit volunteers and contract soldiers, he added.
According to the minister, 218,000 reservists are undergoing training at Russian military bases, 41,000 are deployed in military units fighting in Ukraine and another 41,000 are in the conflict zone but are still undergoing training.
“I want to thank everyone who joined the armed forces,” Putin said. “Thank you for this devotion to duty, this patriotism.”
The Russian president, like his minister, once again acknowledged the failures of this mobilization, whereby many uninvited people found themselves integrated as well as lacking equipment.
But all equipment problems are now “resolved,” said Mr. Choigou promised on Friday.
The Russian president announced the mobilization of 300,000 reservists on September 21, so that civilians, in order to consolidate his lines, forced the retreat of Russian forces in several areas of the Ukrainian army front, especially in the northeast and south. .
