It’s understandable if Will Smith doesn’t want people to see his new movie

Will Smith has confirmed that he understands the audience’s decision if they judge that they are not yet ready to watch the movie he stars in.

The 54-year-old actor made the announcement to journalist Kevin McCarthy while promoting the upcoming historical drama Redemption on Apple TV+ on December 9. This is his first film since slapping Chris Rock in the middle of the Oscar ceremony last March.

“I totally understand if people aren’t ready, I respect that and give them space to not be ready,” Will Smith said in the interview, which was shared on the journalist’s Twitter account on Monday.

On the other hand, the actor wants the film crew not to be penalized by his behavior at the Oscars.

“My biggest concern is my team. Anthony [Fuqua, le réalisateur] And the film crew has, in my opinion, done the best work of their career and I really hope my actions don’t penalize them. At this point, I’m working on it. I hope the power of the film and its current resonance will inspire people to go see it and recognize the incredible talent of the people who worked on this project.
