Rapper Kanye West, largely isolated after his recent anti-Semitic comments, went a little deeper on Thursday when he confessed his admiration for Hitler and the Nazis in an interview with a scheming American presenter.

In a strange performance, the artist, now calling himself Ye, wears a black hood that covers his entire face and rants about sin, obscenity and the devil.
“I also see positive things about Hitler,” the rapper said on the set of the “Infoverse” show via far-right conspirator Alex Jones.
“This man (…) invented the highways, invented the microphone that I use as a musician. We can’t publicly say this guy has done anything good, and I’ve had enough,” Kanye West added.
The rapper, who says he has bipolar disorder and recently suggested he might run for president of the United States in 2024, doubled down on the provocation, prompting a surprised laugh from his host.
“I’m tired of labels, every man brings something valuable, especially Hitler,” he asserted. “I love Hitler.”
“Nazis were thugs and did very bad things,” presenter Alex Jones tried to correct him, having recently been forced to pay nearly a billion dollars for denying the reality of a school massacre.
“But they’ve done good things too,” the rapper replied. “We must stop insulting the Nazis. (…) I love the Nazis.
Embattled in a series of controversies, Kanye West has been dropped by brands he collaborated with in recent weeks. Sports equipment maker Adidas cut ties with the rapper in late October, particularly over anti-Semitic comments.
Ready-to-wear chain Gap and fashion house Balenciaga also turned to him. In early October, the rapper chanted “White Lives Matter” at a march in Paris, hijacking the name of the anti-racism movement “Black Lives Matter.”
On set Thursday, he appeared alongside white supremacist Nick Fuentes, with whom he attended this week’s most controversial dinner with former US President Donald Trump.
His comments immediately sparked a flood of rebuttals from many people on social networks.
In a statement, the Republican Jewish Coalition condemned Kanye West as “a vile and despicable cultist who targets the Jewish community with Nazi-like threats and defamation.”
“Conservatives who made the mistake of tolerating Kanye West should be told clearly that he is outcast,” added the organization, which is close to the Republican Party.
