A plane from airline Ryanair nearly landed on its belly at Dublin Airport in Ireland on Sunday after the landing gear failed to deploy properly.

The Boeing 737-800 was particularly damaged after this landing.
A video of the incident was captured by amateur videographers, where sparks can be seen flying due to friction of the metal on the track.
Flight FR5542 was arriving from Liverpool when the incident occurred. Several aviation sites reported that the airstrip was closed for hours.
Air traffic to the airport was temporarily suspended following the intervention of emergency services. A lot of debris fell on the road.
An emergency was declared at Dublin Airport this afternoon following the arrival of Ryanair flight FR5542 from Liverpool. “Dublin Airport Fire Service responded and passengers disembarked normally after being given the go-ahead by an airport firefighter,” said an airport spokesperson.Dublin Airport Authority.
