Up to 200,000 Hydro-Québec customers lost power in Montreal Thursday afternoon amid a heat wave.
More than 300 outages caused by “equipment failure” were listed in the metropolis on Thursday afternoon, mainly in the West Island as well as in Saint-Laurent, Côte-des-Neiges, Notre-Dame-de-Grace. and Côte-Saint-Luc.

Across Quebec, more than 29,000 customers were without power.
Power problems disrupted service on the orange metro line between Côte-Vertou and Lionel-Groulx stations for about half an hour, but were able to resume at 3:30 p.m.
