RTC’s second strike in a few months?

A second strike in three months is on the horizon at Capital Transport Network (RTC) unless inspectors and dispatchers reach an agreement with management, but buses will continue to run.

Members of the RTC Inspectors and Dispatchers Union voted Sunday in favor of pressure tactics leading to a strike.

According to the transport company, this is a “normal process in the negotiation process”, the RTC announced in a press release to its customers “future” on Monday.

Salary conditions

Dispatchers and inspectors are without an employment contract from December 31, 2022 and want to receive the same pay conditions as their driver colleagues. “Despite a July 5 settlement with drivers, the RTC has refused to offer inspectors and dispatchers the same salary conditions granted to drivers,” the union wrote in a press release.

“Our members expect fairness between the groups and reacted strongly when the RTC gave them less stipulations,” declared union president Eric Poirier.
