Director of disability advocacy organization charged with sexual harassment, assault and threats

Olivier Collomb d'Irames, a well-known figure in the defense of the rights of the disabled in the Quebec region, appeared in a Quebec court on Thursday to answer the charges of sexual harassment, assault and threats.

The 46-year-old is the general director of the community organization ROP03, a regrouping of organizations for the disabled in the Capitale-National region.

He is accused of sexually assaulting a woman between January 2018 and the summer of 2021.

During the same period, Olivier Collomb-d'Irames also assaulted his victim, including threatening to kill or physically harm her. The accused were also charged with a fourth count of felony harassment.

However, the facts alleged against Mr Collomb-d'Irames were not related to his employment at ROP03.

The person was absent during attendance on Thursday. His attorney announced his intention to hold a jury trial and requested a preliminary investigation.

The case will return to court on February 16 to fix a date for further hearing.

Protection of disabled persons

Collomb-D'Eyrames is a well-known face in the community world of the Greater Quebec region, having been involved for many years in protecting the rights of people with disabilities.

As the director of ROP03 for nearly 20 years, he has spoken to the media many times.
