Saint-Félix-de-Valois announced 24 new social and affordable housing units

On Monday, the municipality of Saint-Felix-de-Valois announced that it could build 24 new housing units on its territory, as part of the second call of the Société de Habitation du Québec's Quebec Affordable Housing Program.

The project, called Maisons Félicienne, targets needy families and single people.

The project will be carried out thanks to the Canada-Quebec Agreement on the Fund to Accelerate Housing Construction, in which the governments of Canada and Quebec will invest $900 million each.

The Felician Administration is also a financial partner of the project, which must contribute to the project equal to at least 40% of the basic grant of the Society.

At a press conference, the mayor of Saint-Felix-de-Valois, Audrey Boisjoly, indicated that the project would be on Michel Street and would cost $8.4 million. The grant is $4.5 million.

Finally, Ms. Boisjoly indicates that the municipality's population will increase by 24% by 2031 and housing costs in its territory will be around $1,200. She estimates that the first tenants will be able to take possession of their apartments on the 1st^er July 2025.
