Quebec farmers are at the end of their rope, a new survey reveals, and the government is doing nothing to help them, quite the contrary.

This was announced by Agricultural Producers Union President Martin Caron in an interview with LCN.
“Right now, on climate change, instead of investing the sums we should be investing, we're looking for money out of the pockets of agricultural producers,” he said.
He criticized Quebec for strangling farmers with environmental fees that have no equivalent elsewhere in Canada or the United States.
“When I buy diesel or propane at the level of our agribusinesses in Quebec, it will be 100 million that we will send to the electrification and climate change fund this year. “Ours is the only province with that kind of spending,” said Martin Caron.
The UPA president is eagerly awaiting his next meeting with Francois Legault, expecting concrete steps from him to help farmers.
