Winners registered in the “Friday the 13th group” and won $5 million on September 14, thanks to a free ticket, Loto Québec said in a press release Friday.

When they received their prize from Loto-Québec they had the opportunity to get to know each other and celebrate their success in a festive atmosphere.

Each member of the group pocketed $250,000, except Montrealer Alain Richard, who bought two shares and pocketed half a million dollars. “It comes at the right time,” he said.

Reynold Casson, a resident of Centre-du-Quebec, created an online group and named it “The Friday the 13th Group”.

For thirty-year-old Jeremy Gagnon of Monteregi, this came as he was on the verge of a career change. Indeed, the jackpot represents a financial cushion for many members of the group.

Anik Forrest, who lives in Laurentians, received a call from Lotto-Quebec informing him of his win during the power outage. When she found out she had won $250,000, Vidyut returned.

The winners are from Capitale-Nationale, Center-du-Québec, Laurentides, Montérégie, Montreal and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

This is the seventh time the Classic Jackpot has been won in Quebec.
