Commuters frustrated by VIA Rail's non-punctuality will still have to be patient, as a new advisory for drivers has caused more delays in recent days.

In fact, trains now have to slow down when approaching level crossings to activate light signals meant for motorists.
Sometimes there may be an hour delay before the specific departure. Some passengers met at the Quebec station, saying they were resigned to the series of delays.
“I'm back from a trip, so it's okay for me. I have nothing to do. However, if I have to do some work, it becomes more difficult,” said a vacationer.

“He was supposed to come at a quarter to twelve, then ten to twelve, then noon…he finally arrived at eleven eleven,” said one customer.

According to statements TVA sent to Nouvelles, VIA Rail and CN expressed a dispute between the two companies over the management of schedules. However, they reiterated their commitment to the safety of their passengers and said they were ready to cooperate to rectify the timing issues.
Recall that VIA Train ran into trouble last September after passengers were stuck on the train for over 10 hours due to a technical issue.
