The Confederation of National Unions (CSN) has asked Minister Dubey to take steps to end the practice of family doctors.
According to the union, in 2024, more than 500 family doctors will be affiliated from the Public Health Insurance Plan (RAMQ) to practice only in the private sector.
This number has doubled since 2015 and quadrupled since 2009.
According to CSN, Mr. Dubey can finish early.
“We are often told that the health network is a big boat to move, but the government has no excuse in this regard: it could end the exodus on Monday,” said Caroline Senneville, president of CSN. press release
“Physicians going to the private sector will necessarily reduce access to the network, but Quebecers will also lose the work of nurses, administrative agents and attendants who leave with doctors,” she added.
On November 23, CSN will present an emergency plan to prevent the erosion of the network of health and social services in front of its activists at the Coliseum Videotron in Trois-Rivières.
“Across Quebec, a growing number of workers are concerned about the privatization of the health network,” said Caroline Senneville. “This incident is a signal that CSN CAQ is sending to the government. Quebecers care about their network and they are ready to protect it.
