Signed by Montreal Canadians goaltender Jake Allen Two-year, 75 5.75 million contract extension Wednesday.
Allen, who bought from the St. Louis Blues last month, will have a cap hit of $ 8,875 million under a new deal starting in the 2021-22 season. He has 35 4.35 million caps for the upcoming season.
The Canadians bought Allen and the 2022 seventh round picks from the Blues on September 2, replacing the third and seventh round picks in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Allen set a 12-6-3 record with a 2.15 goal-average and a blues with a save percentage of .927 in 24 regular-season games. In five games during the NHL’s return to play, Allen set a 2-1-1 record with a GAA of 1.89 and a save percentage of .935.
The 30-year-old is a veteran of 289 NHL games, setting a career record of 148-94-26 with a 2.50 GAA and .915 save percentage.
Allen became the ninth member of the Canadians to sign at least the 2022-23 season Carry price, Shia Weber, Jeff Petrie, Jonathan Droin, Josh Anderson, Tyler Topoli, Joel Edmundson And Paul Byron.
