A cat would have given the covid to the vet

For the first time since the pandemic began, a cat has infected a human with COVID-19.

According to a study by the Prince of Songkhla University in Thailand, a veterinarian was contaminated by a cat during an exam.

All veterinarians in the clinic who come into contact with the animal wear the necessary equipment, namely N95 masks, gloves and protective glasses.

Three days after the test, one of the doctors began to develop symptoms.

The animal’s owners appear to be positive for COVID-19 prior to the appointment. However, they do not have any relationship with a specialist; Moreover, they respect isolation measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

At the moment, the most likely hypothesis is that a cat could spread the virus by sneezing near a vet’s face.

The study confirms that cats can transmit the virus to humans, but this is rare. However, since the spring of 2020, the opposite has been observed on several occasions.
