CNN reported that John Sotello was moving boxes of bottled water when he saw the cover.
Knowing what was in it, the employee wasted no time and immediately told his superiors.
They were able to find the customer using surveillance cameras and her Costco membership card.
The woman was able to come into the store and get her money back.
“It was crazy because when my supervisor brought me out, the lady was there and she shook my hand really well for 20 seconds,” said Mr. Sotelo said in an interview with CNN. She told me “I’m so glad you found it because it will help my kids go to school”. I told him I was glad I could help him.
This good deed allowed John Sotelo to be named employee of the month at his store.
