The vaccination rate was 96.2% in all exposed individuals (151 health workers and 97 patients). Fourteen patients who were fully vaccinated became seriously ill or died, and two patients who were not vaccinated became mildly ill.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified four of the five counties with the highest percentage (99.9-84.3%) of the fully immunized population as “high” transmission counties. Many policymakers speculate that vaccinated individuals may be excluded as a source of transmission.
