The Quebec Auditor General’s Office has called for an official investigation into a controversial file that sold the party’s Cubacois (PQ) North American lithium mine to foreign interests.

In a message posted on Twitter, PQ MP and financial critic Meganne Perry Melanon demanded that Auditor General Gailine Leclerc launch an investigation into the matter. “What is being said is serious and contradicts the statements made by Minister FitzGibbon and the CEO of Investment Quebec during the study of credits,” the member tweeted. The light must shine on the dubious process that excluded Quebec candidates. I am requesting an investigation from the Office of the Auditor General of Quebec. ”
Assistance to the courts
Quebec has announced in a press release that it has entered into an agreement with Australian Sayona Mining to seize the assets of the ABTB mine under court protection from 2019. Four other mining companies, including two Quebec companies, are at least in favor of Sayona’s proposal.
In an official notice sent to Prime Minister Franకోois Legalt on Thursday, Montreal-based mining companies Central America Nickel and SRG Mining jointly demanded a complete end to the mine’s liquidation policies.
Finance Minister, Investment Quebec and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton are also embroiled in the case, which will end in court.
Unanswered questions

“How can Quebec buyers say no to Sayona’s double offer? What happened to Coquista’s nationalism? Has Mr. FitzGibbon become our critical mineral discount seller?”
Yesterday, the Office of the Auditor General could not confirm whether it would like to launch an investigation into the matter. The company is free to “conduct an audit on a specific issue or not,” its spokesman said, adding that the auditor was “aware of the information available in this file”.
