A felony suspect who allegedly tried using to flee Australia on a yacht has been apprehended just after he was observed hiding in an air-conditioning vent on a ship.

Law enforcement stated the male, 31, was experiencing a sexual assault demand in Sydney.

On Saturday, he set sail from a New South Wales (NSW) city on his individual tiny yacht but it ran into hassle and he was rescued by a passing cargo ship.

He then disappeared from a cabin someday before the ship, sure for Malaysia, stopped at a port in NSW.

Then on Monday, law enforcement officers with canine expanded their look for to the ship, which was anchored at Newcastle, 110km (70 miles) north of Sydney.
