At the 18th presentation of the annual conference of the Fédération Québécois de Camping et Caravaning (FQCC) held recently in Bromont, the name of the big winner was revealed.
Its organizers will be given a $2,000 grant for their social club, as well as a trophy to mark the occasion. Last year also this organization won the first prize.
The 2023 competition has two finalists, Camping du Domaine du Rave in Saint-Angel-de-Monnoir and Camping du Parc in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc.
We enrolled more than 3,600 participants in the vote to choose their favorite of FQCC’s 210 campsites. The organizers noticed a 45.5% increase in the number of participants in the competition compared to the previous year.
Since 1999, FQCC has made it an annual tradition to recognize a campsite that stands out among its customers. My Favorite Campsite Competition is only giving a voice to campers and caravans.
“We are particularly proud to have recorded 3,632 participants who responded to the My Favorite Campsite contest. Among them, 80% are not members of the FQCC,” stated André Rivest, General Director of the organization.
“It is certainly a great achievement that we will repeat in 2024. Also, the start of the My Favorite Campsite 2024 competition will be at the start of the season next spring. »
Four stars
Furthermore, the management of Camping du Pont Couvret recently received a four-star classification level.
“Despite the enormous challenge associated with labor shortages this season, our team managed to maintain quality operations. We are committed to rigorous maintenance and improvement of our infrastructure to ensure customer satisfaction. We are very proud to have earned this fourth star,” said co-owner and communications manager Mary- Laurence Binet explains, adding that changing weather conditions did not block traffic like last year.
Bordering the Moe and Ox Salmon rivers, the campground opened its first sites in the 1960s. It is situated on 42 acres of land adjacent to Milby Golf Club.
The current owners, Martin Binet, Sylvie Bellavens and Marie-Laurence Binet have been running it since September 2017.
