Dry dock end of “F.-A.-Gauthier”

“F.-A.-Gauthier” will begin maritime testing next week on Saturday from its dry dock at the Verrolt Navigation des Machines shipyard, before heading to Matane in Boss-Saint-Laurent.

The Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) indicated that necessary repairs were being carried out by applying the manufacturer’s protocol. STQ stated that there were no unpleasant surprises during work.

Ownership is confident that repairs can fix the oil leakage problem at the seals on one of the boat thrusters.

Navigation tests allow the STQ to complete the process of putting the ferry back into service, which we hope will be completed in late November and early December.

These sea tests should last for a week. If they are positive, the ship will be back in service for customers.

“F.-A.-Gauthier” entered the dry dock in late October.

STQ emphasizes that once the tests are completed, it will be possible to verify the guarantees applicable to this work.
