Frenchman Bernard Arnault, CEO of luxury group LVMH, and his family briefly topped the Forbes world’s richest list on Wednesday with $185 billion, dethroning American Elon Musk, Tesla’s boss, for one time. SpaceX and Twitter.
The 73-year-old French businessman and his family topped the ranking, produced in real time and available online, on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday as Elon Musk’s fortunes plummeted, notably in Tesla shares.

But at 5:30 p.m., Elon Musk ($184.9 billion) surpassed Bernard Arnault ($184.7 billion). In 3rd place is Indian businessman Gautam Adani (134.8 billion), head of conglomerate, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (111.3 billion) in 4th place.
Bernard Arnault has already occupied the first position in this ranking for a few hours in May 2021.
The French billionaire’s fortunes have recently benefited from a rise in the results of LVMH, the global leader in luxury, whose net profit will reach 12 billion euros in 2021.

Elon Musk, whose fortune depends on the outcome of Tesla’s move, has recently been at the center of many controversies since he bought the social network Twitter.
The other benchmark ranking, financial firm Bloomberg, has Elon Musk in the lead. According to this daily ranking, which ended on Tuesday, at the end of Wall Street, the wealth of the American businessman reached 178.9 billion dollars, ahead of Bernard Arnault (165.1 billion).
