Friday July 16, 2021: Update on the COVID19 situation by ARS

Specific consistency of hospital activity indicators: Tonight (+2) 447 hospitals, including 52 in intensive care and critical care (-1), and 4,607 deaths were observed in health institutions since the outbreak in March 2020 (+1 in 3 days).

This bulletin ensures the rapid acceleration of the circulation of the delta variant in our area, especially among the young. This is a warning sign calling on everyone to get vaccinated to protect themselves from this highly contagious variant. The call for the vaccine has sparked new excitement in recent days: on Tuesday, July 13, the day of the presidential address, 69,000 people were vaccinated in Occitania, including 25,000 first injections.

This new regional record is again slightly exceeded.
